Spring 2018 Preschool Storytime: Weeks Five and Six 4-3-18 and 4-10-18

It's been a busy couple of weeks for yours truly.  Technically I was on spring break with my girlies last week, but I still came in to do a couple of programs, including storytime.  I just can't get enough I guess!  The best part about last week's storytime was the guest star.  Proud mama moment!  My daughter read a book to the kids!  She loved being the "big kid" and reading to the preschoolers.  The fact that she's in kindergarten and was literally a preschooler last year was just a mere side note to her!  Full disclosure, I had to work REALLY hard to not get emotional while she did it.  I was so proud of her.  She loves reading and is absolute proof that if you read to your kids, make books a part of everyday life, and have fun sharing stories together, that they will be successful.  Last night we had a baby storytime at the library, and I had an older customer come to the reference desk to ask me if we really have storytimes just for babies.  She was very interested to learn more about what we do and was surprised to learn how beneficial these programs really are.  At the end of our conversation she told me that she was going to tell her neighbor about the storytime because they have a six month old.  I love that this conversation took place during National Libraries Week and that I was able to share the value about this great service we offer.  Score for libraries!

Future librarian in action or does it just pay to have one for your mom?
