Family Storytime 7-1-17, A.K.A. How to lead storytime post concert.

So last night, my 10 year old self was insanely happy because not only did I go to the New Kids on the Block concert with my best friend, but we got ticket upgrades to 13 rows from the stage, AND JOEY TOUCHED MY HAND!!!!  Donnie also totally waved to us as he ran through the tunnel backstage after the show.  Totally fangirling!!!!

My best friend and I pre-concert.  We met lots of other fans!

This morning I wake up absolutely exhausted with a completely SHREDDED voice.  It's rough.  I sang my heart out.  Then I remember that I have to lead family storytime.  Oy!  My strategy...short stories and a whole lot of music!  Also coffee.  Always coffee.

Here is what I came up with:

Opening Song:  "Good Morning" (Track #1 Songs for Wiggleworms)

Rhyme:  "If You're Wearing Red Today"

Song:  "If You're Happy and You Know It" (Track #6 Songs for Wiggleworms)

Book:  Ready, Set, Skip! / Jane O'Connor, illustrated by Ann James

Rhyme/Song:  "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (Track #1 Hap Palmer Early Childhood Classics)

Book:  Pancakes!: an interactive recipe book / Lotta Nieminen

Song:  "Milkshake" (Track #18 Songs for Wiggleworms)

Book:  Cock-a-Doodle Dance / Christine Tricarico

Closing Song:  "Goodbye Song" (Track #15 Hap Palmer Early Childhood Classics)

Closing Rhyme:  "Open Shut Them"

We had a lot of fun this morning.  Lots of itty bitties in storytime = finding the energy to push through!

This helps increase energy levels too! ;)
