First off I have to share my pure excitement and giddiness over the latest Mo Willem's book, Sam the Most Scaredy-Cat Kid in the Whole World, a sequel to Leonardo the Terrible Monster. I've been eagerly awaiting this book since I saw a galley copy at a book preview a few months back. Mo Willems is totally in the same category as Eric Litwin in terms of awesomeness, at least in my book. I've had the honor of meeting him, and he is amazing. Check out his website www.mowillems.com.
For our math skill this week, we read the book Inch by Inch by Leo Lionni and compared lengths of different objects as well as height. We compared our height to that of different animals such as a monkey, a penguin, a giraffe's neck, and an elephant's trunk. Then we stacked up our giant Lego blocks to see how many blocks tall the kiddos are.
