Fall 2017 Music & Movement: Week Six 10-11-17

First off, I have to say that they best time to read The Croaky Pokey! with a group of kids is when you are battling a sinus infection.  The unique quality that it lends to your voice gives it an authentic froggy cadence.  I have been dragging this week with much less energy than usual, but storytime munchkins are always good for a burst of energy and lots of smiles.  The kids have all been given the special job of being song leaders and extra good listeners.  For an extra element of fun this week, I cut out some paper leaves and asked the kids to join me in a leaf dance.  We chanted the following rhyme:

Down, down, yellow and brown
The leaves are falling all around town.
Down, down, orange and red
The leaves are falling on my head.

The greatest thing about this activity is that clean up is built right in.  They get to "rake" up the leaves and put them back in my basket.
