Spring 2018 Preschool Storytime: Week One 3-6-18

Spring is here!  Well, at least it's here in terms of our programming schedule!  Mother Nature continues to have other plans!  It's kind of funny that I included a little weather activity in this session.  We ended up with four different words to describe the weather!  During this session I am focusing on picture book "classics" from the New York Public Library's list of 100 Picture Books Everyone Should Know.  The kids really enjoyed the Froggy book and thought it was hilarious when he forgot to put on his underwear!  I am also going to highlight a different skill or concept that kids either need to know for kindergarten or will learn in kindergarten.  This week was days of the week and I was able to include a special rhyme that my own kindergarten girl taught me.  She loves when I teach her rhymes to my storytime kiddos.

Sung to the tune of The Addams Family:

There's Sunday and there's Monday.
There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday.
There's Thursday and there's Friday,
And then comes Saturday.

Days of the week. (Clap clap)
Days of the week. (Clap clap)
Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week. (Clap clap)

Feel free to snap your fingers for the true, authentic Addams Family feel.  I however am finger snapping challenged and have to rely on good old fashioned clapping!
