Fall 2019 Preschool Storytime: Week One 9/3/19


Back in action with my library munchkins!  This time around we are focusing on color sight words as our kindergarten readiness skill.  I am also focusing on nursery rhymes this session because it's amazing how many "classic" rhymes kids these days don't know.


Fall 2019 Preschool Storytime
Week One:  9-3-19

Opening Song:  “So Nice to Be Here” (Track #3 Sing It Say It Stamp It Sway It / Peter Allard & Ellen Allard)

Rhyme:  “All Around the Apple Tree” (Kids pick apples out of the basket and then we come up with a rhyming word.)

Rhyme:  “If You’re Ready for a Book”

Book:  If I Built a School / Chris Van Dusen

Song:  “One, Two, Three, Whee!” (Track #4 Groovy Green / Eric Litwin)

Color words

Book:  The Two Mutch Sisters / Carol Brendler / art by Lisa Brown

Rhyme:  “Leaves of the Trees” (Kids dance and jump in the “leaves” then rake them.  Do 2x)

Nursery Rhyme Sticks

Book:  Lambslide / Ann Patchett, illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser

Song:  “Have You Seen the Trampoline?” (Track #4 / Music Play for Folks of All Stripes / Jim Gill)

Shaker Song:  “Milkshake” (Track #18 Songs for Wiggleworms)

Closing Song:  “Goodbye, Goodbye” (Track #13 I’m a Rock Star / Joanie Leeds)
