Fall 2018 Music & Movement: Weeks Five & Six 10/3/18 & 10/10/18

Playing a bit of catch-up this week.  I didn't post last week's storytime outline despite being convinced that I had!  Oh well, better late than never, right?  So this week in week six I am introducing a new yoga activity.  This past weekend I attended a conference on play presented by the USA Toy Library Association, and one of the breakout sessions was about introducing yoga to kids.  I got lots of great ideas, suggestions, and links to music and activities that we actually did during the presentation.  "Dancing Bear" was one of my favorites so I did it with the kids this week.  At the same conference I also got to dance and sing on stage with Eric Litwin which may be one of the biggest highlights of my career and makes me pretty darn cool in the eyes of my own children. :)

Fall 2018 Preschool Storytime: Week Six 10/9/18

The energy levels were HIGH today!  I don't know if it's because it feels like summer vacation when it's almost time for Halloween or what, but yowza!  On the plus side, all of this crazy weather has made our weather circle time very informative.  I think we've gone through just about every weather word since September, or at least very close!

Fall 2018 Preschool Storytime: Week Five 10/2/18

It's dinosaur time!  In what has become a popular tradition, the first week of my October storytimes is dinosaur themed!  Way back when a preschooler (who is probably in high school by now, yikes!) told me October is dinosaur month.  I confirmed it, and the tradition was born.  I'm totally bumming this year though because my dino obsessed daughter is in all day kindergarten and won't be with me this year.  Oh well, she's with us in spirit, and I'll be sure to celebrate with her later!
