It may be cold, wet, and all around yucky outside, but we were warm and cozy inside the library!  Another awesome day with my library littles!  I love my job so much!  Pulled my back out shoveling and pushing my husband's car out of a snow drift on Monday, but the smiles and laughs of the kiddos helped me forget the pain for a little while, or at least until it was time for our yoga activities! :)

Winter 2019 Preschool Storytime: Week One 1-8-19

Preschool storytime is back!  Woohoo!  Trying out some new songs this time around, and I am using a series of books by Scholastic called StoryPlay.  They are regular picture books, but have little bubbles with questions to ask during the story.  I want to highlight this series for parents and caregivers to show that dialogic reading can be super simple.  These books can give them examples and help them move on to other titles.

Winter 2019 Music & Movement Storytime: Week One 1-2-19

So my first storytime of 2019 was an extra special one for me because I had two awesome assistants - my daughters!  They are 5 1/2 and 7, so they are now the "big kids" which they absolutely loved.  There was a tiny army of kiddos who followed them around!  My 7 year old was a huge help to me because I had been getting over a wicked cold/flu and still was getting my strength and voice back.  She got to take on a teacher role and did an amazing job.  Super proud mom moment!  The highlight for both of my girls was giving stamps to the kids at the end of the program.  You would have thought it was Christmas all over again!
